Juan L. Vega
Juan Vega joined Goodman Allen Donnelly in 2019 and practices in the Veterans Benefit Group. His practice includes Veterans' disability compensation benefits, Virginia criminal law, military criminal law, and military related civil litigation such as administrative separations and discharge upgrades.
Juan served as a criminal prosecutor for over twelve years, handling all types of cases in several jurisdictions throughout Virginia. In the military, he served as a defense attorney, and he currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Law in Charlottesville. He is an experienced litigator who can help navigate the complicated criminal justice system. Whether it’s finding the weakness in a case, arguing the law, or limiting a client's exposure, he will obtain the best possible result. Juan handles criminal cases throughout Virginia but focuses primarily in the greater Charlottesville/Piedmont region and in Central Virginia.
A culmination of his careers and experiences has made him the perfect advocate for Veterans. In the 1990's he served as a combat engineer in the Marine Corps Reserve, and he currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Law in the Army JAG Corps. He runs free legal clinics at the VA Hospital in Richmond and at various Veteran Service Organizations throughout the Commonwealth. He has successfully represented and assisted Veterans with their disability compensation claims.
Juan's civilian experience includes over twelve years of criminal prosecution, where he sought justice for those who had been wronged. Before practicing law, and for almost a decade, he worked in international business sales and consulting, where he negotiated the best possible resolutions for his clients.
He has served on boards of numerous non-profit organizations and currently serves as a Board Member of the Seventh District Committee of the Virginia State Bar Legal Ethics.
