Goodman Allen Donnelly Marks 27 Years of Legal Excellence and Client Service

Richmond, VA, July 15, 2025—Goodman Allen Donnelly, a Virginia-based business and litigation law firm, recently celebrated its 27th anniversary, marking more than a quarter century of legal service. The firm was founded in 1998 by eight law firm partners with decades of courtroom experience and has grown to comprise more than 20 attorneys throughout Virginia.

Reflecting on this milestone, founding partner Michael Goodman shared, “When we opened our doors nearly 30 years ago, we couldn’t have imagined the incredible journey ahead. We were a group of lawyers in our 30s and 40s, driven by a desire to build a client-focused, collaborative firm. Today, I am filled with gratitude for the people, the work, and the legacy we’ve created together. I am deeply proud of the firm we’ve built and confident in the next generation of attorneys who will continue to uphold our core values.”

From its early days as Goodman West & Filetti to the current Goodman Allen Donnelly, the firm has developed alongside the legal profession, navigating the digital transformation of law practice, expanding into multiple offices, strategically embracing new practice areas, and welcoming many talented attorneys and professionals.

Key moments in the firm’s growth included the addition of the veterans benefit group in 2007 and the integration of a deep bench of health care experience in 2023, reflecting the firm’s commitment to clients and service.

With offices in Richmond, Norfolk, Charlottesville, and Williamsburg, Goodman Allen Donnelly leverages a collaborative approach and deep industry knowledge and experience to provide strategic counsel to help clients—from individuals and small businesses to healthcare systems and multinational corporations—with business, litigation, health care, intellectual property, and veterans benefit matters.

“As Goodman Allen Donnelly enters its 28th year, the firm remains steadfast in its commitment to deliver exceptional legal service while fostering a collaborative, client-centered culture,” said Michael. “Our original goals—ethical practice, professional excellence, and community contribution—continue to guide the firm’s work and relationships. The trust and support of our clients, colleagues, and community have made these 27 years possible. With gratitude, we look forward to many years of continued success.”
