Goodman Allen Donnelly principal Robert Harrison Gibbs, Jr. has been named Chair of the Board of Governors for the Health Law Section of the Virginia State Bar, where he previously served as Secretary and Vice President.
The Health Law Section consists of lawyers dealing with the administration of health care. The section has been active in continuing legal education, including sponsorship of the Annual Law Institute on Hospitals and Medicine together with the Department of Health Administration of MCV, the Virginia Health Care Association, and the Virginia Hospital Association.
Harrison Gibbs has over 20 years of experience representing physicians, behavioral health providers, other licensed providers, and licensed agencies and facilities with state and federal regulatory compliance, professional licensing, HIPAA, corporate documents and transactions, third-party payment audits and appeals, false claims investigations, and facility licensing and certification. An active member of the Williamsburg community, he serves as president of the Bacon Street Youth and Family Services Board. He has also served as president of the board of directors for the AIDS Fund chair of the board of directors of the Williamsburg Aids Network, and on the board of Olde Town Medical and Dental Center. Harrison has represented patients in commitment hearings, volunteered with the William & Mary Law School Legal Skills Program, participated in the Williamsburg Bar’s Legal Outreach clinics, and managed Goodman Allen’s law student extern and summer associate program.
