Goodman Allen Donnelly is thrilled to announce its merger with the specialized healthcare law firm, Mellette PC. This strategic move brings together two of Virginia’s leading legal entities, enhancing their commitment to delivering unparalleled legal services to healthcare providers.

Goodman Allen Donnelly’s healthcare law practice represents a broad spectrum of providers, from individual practitioners, medical practices, and other healthcare practices to healthcare systems, hospitals, clinical laboratories, and long-term care facilities. As part of the integration, four seasoned attorneys from Mellette PC will join the Goodman Allen Donnelly team to create a fourth office location for the firm in Williamsburg. The attorneys joining include:

  • Peter Mellette, the founding partner of Mellette PC, brings over 30 years of health law regulatory and corporate practice experience. He has successfully represented and advised healthcare providers from individuals to long-term care providers to freestanding imaging and surgery facilities to hospital systems. Mellette has successfully represented hundreds of clients in the Certificate of Public Need (COPN) process, resolved many licensing and facility care issues, advised providers on multiple complex transactional and contractual issues, and pursued payment disputes involving millions of dollars in provider payments through the administrative process and courts. He is recognized as one of Virginia’s top lawyers, and he actively contributes to the community through leadership in local organizations.
  • Robert Harrison Gibbs, Jr. focuses his practice on representing physicians and other healthcare providers. His expertise extends to state and federal regulatory reporting, Stark and Anti-Kickback Law compliance, corporate documents and transactions, third-party payment, behavioral health facility operations, licensing and certification.
