Eileen Talamante’s Year of the Nurse Article Published in VLW and MLR

A recent article on the firm’s blog, “2020 is Designated as ‘The Year of the Nurse’…Wow, is it Ever…” has been featured in two Virginia Lawyers Media publications: Virginia Lawyers Weekly May 18 issue and in the print version of the May issue of Virginia Medical Law Report. The article, written by Eileen Talamante, a nurse attorney herself, observes: “This virus has and will, for the foreseeable future, test our nurses and the nursing profession, at a level never seen before on U.S. soil.”

When the World Health Organization designated 2020 as “The Year of the Nurse and Midwife”, there was no threat of a global pandemic on the horizon. Today, news headlines illustrate the dangers and frustrations faced by our country’s front line health care workers battling the COVID-19 pandemic. Eileen’s article offers encouragement and resources for nurses facing these unprecedented challenges, and offers assurance that nurses will emerge from the pandemic stronger, more empowered, and resilient.

As National Nurses Month draws to a close, Goodman Allen Donnelly salutes nurses of all stripes – caretakers and colleagues, alike. Congratulations, Eileen, for your passionate advocacy of all nurses as “essential” – pandemic or not.
