Litigation: Trademark and Copyright Litigation
Goodman, Allen & Filetti's focal point in trademark litigation is the protection of our client's brand value developed through use of their trademarks. We provide a wide range of litigation services, acting both proactively, by pursuing action against infringers, and reactively, by defending our clients against accusations of infringement and improper trademark, servicemark and trade name use. Goodman, Allen & Filetti's attorneys represent clients in disputes involving trademarks, trade dress, and unfair competition, ranging from trademark dilution and counterfeiting to false advertising. Goodman, Allen & Filetti also provides copyright litigation services which serve to protect various clients' works of authorship and design.
We handle proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and we also represent clients with domain names and Internet disputes under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy of ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers). We have litigated matters in both state and federal courts all across Virginia, as well as numerous other states, including California, New York and Texas. Our services extend beyond national borders as well, as we have been involved in intellectual property disputes involving parties in Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia.
Patent Litigation
Our attorneys actively both prosecute and defend patent infringement actions across the United States. We have an extensive knowledge of the depths of patent law and the skills in both business and technology to actively protect our clients' intellectual and commercial interests. Goodman, Allen & Filetti represents clients in matters of patent enforcement, infringement, licensing, and inventorship. Our clients include individual inventors, small businesses and Fortune 500 companies.
Trade Secrets and Unfair Competition
Goodman, Allen & Filetti counsels clients in drafting and implementing policies and procedures which will help them most effectively comply with applicable trade secret law while adequately protecting proprietary and confidential business and commercial information. And, in cases where such measures are not sufficient, we pursue and defend actions related to the misappropriation and improper use of trade secrets by employees, former employees, and third parties.
Goodman, Allen & Filetti also has extensive experience with unfair competition, business, conspiracy, and tortuous interference litigation. In cases in which parties' business interest come into improper conflict and no intellectual property laws are applicable, we continue to pursue and defend actions under other applicable state and federal laws.
