Social Media in Hospitals: The Lawyers' Perspective

Goodman Allen & Filetti lawyers, Mary M. H. Priddy, Esq., Anne M. Glenn, Esq. and Kathleen M. McCauley, Esq., will be featured on a panel addressing the role of social media in healthcare as it creates employment issues, impacts litigation and causes patient privacy issues.

By the end of this session participants should be able to:

  •  Identify and manage the critical employment problems associated with the increasing use of social media by healthcare providers.
  •  Identify the ways in which social media impacts litigation and develop strategies to limit the resulting increased liability for hospitals and healthcare providers.

ASHRM Annual Conference & Exhibition

Getting to Zero™ Through The Power Of One

The American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM), recently celebrated its 31st year with renewed dedication to providing its membership of more than 5,600 healthcare risk management and patient safety professionals with relevant information, education and professional development opportunities. ASHRM is committed to promoting awareness about the critical role healthcare risk managers and patient safety professionals hold as thought leaders and change agents in the journey to eliminating preventable serious safety events.

In 2011, the society officially launched “Getting to Zero™: Eliminating Preventable Serious Safety Events”—a multi-faceted patient safety and healthcare risk management initiative that aims at driving down the incidence of preventable serious safety events in healthcare organizations.

ASHRM’s 2012 Annual Conference & Exhibition continues the quest of Getting to Zero™, and is poised to be one of the most successful meetings in ASHRM history. As ASHRM prepares for its annual conference in National Harbor, Md. just outside of Washington, D.C. on Oct. 7-10, the momentum behind the “Getting to Zero™” initiative is growing. Attendees will be part of a most stimulating and memorable event as they network with more than 2,000 healthcare professionals, and gain deeper knowledge about hot topics such as healthcare reform, the Affordable Care Act, patient safety and preventative strategies. These issues and more will be covered throughout ASHRM’s annual conference that will offer more than 60 sessions and a variety of dynamic keynote speakers including CNN's Paul Begala and MSNBC’s Michael Steele.

We invite you to join ASHRM for four days of thought-provoking educational sessions and motivating networking opportunities at the 2012 ASHRM Annual Conference & Exhibition. Our goal of “Getting to Zero™ “will take a collective effort but will happen one person, one leader, one organization at a time. Register today for ASHRM 2012 and learn how to unleash your Power of One.
