Cheryl L. Black was recently appointed by the Secretary of Commerce to serve as a voting member of the Trademark Public Advisory Committee (TPAC) for the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The role of TPAC is to advise the Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the USPTO on policies, goals, performance, budget and user fees of trademark operation. TPAC is comprised of twelve members-nine voting members who are selected to represent the interests of USPTO diverse users and three non-voting members selected to represent each of the labor organizations recognized by the USPTO.
Ms. Black joined Goodman Allen & Filetti in 2009 following her 15 year career with the USPTO. Her practice is focused primarily in the areas of Trademark, Copyright and Social Media Law.
