In keeping with his strong military background, Mr. Gasperini heads up the Military Medical Malpractice section at Goodman Allen & Filetti. Following his graduation from West Point in 1970 and law school in 1975, Mr. Gasperini served with The Judge Advocate General's Corps. During his active military tenure, Mr. Gasperini served in various military legal assignments including trial attorney, 3d Armored Division; Associate Professor of Law, The Judge Advocate General's School; Deputy Staff Judge Advocate, 82nd Airborne Division; and Chief, Medical Malpractice and Tort Law Branch, U.S. Army Litigation Division in the Pentagon, where he was responsible from 1986 to 1990 for the defense of all medical malpractice claims against the United States Army. Since entering private practice in 1990, Mr. Gasperini has successfully prosecuted more than 250 major tort actions against the government under the Federal Tort Claims Act and the Military Claims Act, achieving substantial recoveries on behalf of his clients. These cases have included complex medical malpractice actions and other significant tort claims in federal courts throughout the United States. Mr. Gasperini has also secured recoveries against the government arising out of injuries occurring in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
